But farmers from the Dhabla-Hardu region near Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh, literally in the middle of nowhere and far from everywhere, had to buy fertilizer from the black market because it simply won’t reach them. Manohar Singh Tomar started Kalisindh Farmer Producer Company (named after the local river) to solve this problem. Here’s how he did it.
